S.A.R.A. Minutes of Meeting of
October 3, 2007

The meeting having been duly noticed, it began at approximately 7:35 pm and was called to order by Christina Sand, President. There were introductions around the table and those present introduced themselves.

Old Business:

  • Christina Sand will respond to the four QSL cards received from Field Day contacts. Yin Shih reported that there are other QSL cards outstanding.
  • We still have some equipment stored at the Saratoga City offices. Don Steinbach will remove and disposition same.
  • New Business:

    Treasurer's Report.
  • The Treasurer reported a bank balance of $2,070, $10 cash, and $20 from Walter Spector.
  • Don Steinbach presented a check in an amount representing the return of a SlimLine KeySafe purchased for the EOC equipment cabinets. The Fire Department provided a similar unit for our use. The money was from the Rotary Grant fund.
  •   Secretary's Report.
  • The September minutes are posted on the web site. The minutes were approved.
  •   Business Items.
  • The Fire Department plans to charge $20 for each meeting held at the station. Christina will attempt to secure a waiver for SARA.
  • Thank you letters have been sent to Capt. Tim and Ranger Miles Standish.
  • Field Day pins are on order.
  • Christina has an appointment with an attorney to create federal tax exempt status for SARA.
  •   Nets.
  • Don Steinbach performed the EOC-to-EOC radio check this morning. The test was successful. The next test will be November 7.
  •   Emergency Communications Committee Report.
  • There is an EC Council meeting scheduled for October 10, and a drill planned for October 13.
  • The K6SA repeater has been moved to the City corporate yard.
  •   Emergency Services.
  • No report.
  •   Program.
  • The program for the evening was a presentation on the Courage HandiHam program by Gary Gordon, K6KV.
  • The meeting was adjourned at 9:06 pm.
