S.A.R.A. Minutes of Meeting of
May 2, 2007

| The meeting having been duly noticed, it began at
approximately 7:37 pm and was called to order by Christina Sand,
President. There were introductions around the table, those present
introduced themselves. |
Old Business: |
We will operate two stations HF stations
and no GOTA station. Antennas to be used are TBD. |
New Business: |
The
new check blanks have been received from the bank. These correctly indicate "two signatures required".
There has been little response to the requests for an additional $10 for membership dues for 2007. |

The April
minutes are posted on the web site. The Annual Registration Renewal Fee Report has been
filed with the Registry of Charitable Trusts in Sacramento. |

DSW badging is planned for May 12.
It was moved and seconded to reimburse Don Steinbach $248.97 for EOC installation expenses. Don provided an
itemized list with receipts.
A letter needs to be sent to the Saratoga Rotary, with receipts, acknowledging grant expenditures
and progress to date. |

Fabrizio Corno was Net Control for the SVECS net on April 3.
Lyle Topham performed the EOC-to-EOC radio check this morning. Net control did not hear Saratoga. |

The EOC station needs NVIS and UHF/VHF antennas to
complete the installation with full planned capabilities.
There was an EC Council meeting on April 19.
There was an SVECS Board meeting on April 20.
A County ARES/RACES drill will be conducted on April 21.
The SVECS quarterly breakfast was held on April 28.
There will be a CERT Communications Committee meeting on May 9.
The EOC radio test this morning failed. This is the second time in recent months. |

There was no report from Jim Yoke. |

The
program for the evening was a presentation by Christina Sand, KG6ORH,
on the Automatic Packet/Position Reporting System (APRS). The presentation included
a comprehensive overview of the system capabilities and provided
links to a number of information sources.
