The meeting having been duly noticed, it began at approximately 7:38 pm and was called to order by Christina Sand, President. There were introductions around the table, those present introduced themselves.

OLD Business:

Web Site. Christina Sand reported that the K6SA web site is being redone and moved to a different host.

New Business:

Treasurer's Report. The Treasurer (Christina Sand, acting) reported that new checks are on order. ARRL renewals have been forwarded.
Minutes. The January and February minutes were approved as posted on the web site.
Field Day. Field Day is June 23-24. We will probably operate two stations (vs just one, which was discussed). The value of a GOTA station is questionable. We need a Tech licensee to operate it, and it takes too long to set up given our limited resources and other priorities.
Nets. The EOC-to-EOC monthly net check-in was accomplished this morning. The EOC radio has been moved from the desktop to the overhead cabinets since the last check-in.
Emergency Communications Committee Report. Christina Sand and John Glass reported the following:
  • The City TIS radio is being heard on 1610 kHz with improved signal strength. County Comm. performed the installation and checkout.
  • The new 70' pole has been installed at the City yard. Our repeater antenna will be installed when it becomes available. Brackets and coax are in place.
  • The Kenwood repeater is on the way. The first unit failed in the shop. The vendor will ship a warranty replacement unit from Kenwood. This unit is being purchased by John Glass and donated to S.A.R.A.
  • Don Steinbach reported that our 2 meter radio recently installed at the fire station EOC has been checked out. Our signal was reported strong on the input frequency east of downtown San Jose, even at 5 watts.
Presentation. The program for the evening was a presentation by N9JIM and W6BY of the 50MhzAndUp group. The first half of the presentation was devoted to various aspects of amateur microwave operation and the second half was a presentation on the restoration and use of the old Jamesburg Dish located in Carmel Valley.
Emergency Services. There was no report from Jim Yoke.

The meeting was adjourned at 9:13 pm
