The meeting having been duly noticed, it began at approximately 7:30 pm and was called to order by Christina Sand, President. There were introductions around the table, those present introduced themselves.

OLD Business:

None.

New Business:

Treasurer's Report. The Treasurer (Christina Sand, acting) reported $76 in cash/checks on hand. Current obligations are $300 due the Fire Department for the EOC cabinets, and $40 due the USPS for PO Box rental.
Minutes. The January minutes were not accessible on the web site and were therefore not approved at this time.
Web Site. Christina Sand reported that QRZ.com has been down for an extended period with no explanation. Domain names K6SA.net and K6SA.com are both available. The consensus of the group was to register both names and search for a possible new web host.
Nets. Memos regarding EOC-to-EOC monthly net attendance will be posted on the Yahoo! group site, as will the net script. It was noted that our reporting into the SVECS net would benefit from having a signup process like we use for the EOC net.
Emergency Communications Committee Report. Rob Vance reported the following:
  • The SEC has requested a monthly report from each EC on the number of hours spent for the public good.
  • SARA will have an antenna on the new 70' pole being installed at the City yard.
  • Rob is still working the internet access issue with the Fire Department and the City.
  • There will probably be a drill in the Spring, perhaps in April.
Presentation. Rob Vance made a presentation on Linux for the Amateur Radio Operator. Rob pointed out that Linux comes in many flavors and will therefore operate on almost any PC. The "instruction book" is "the web." There are a multitude of applications (programs) available for Amateur Radio. These include programs for logging, analysis, transceiver control, satellite tracking, etc.
Emergency Services. Jim Yoke attended a conference on interoperability in San Francisco. The Oakland Hills fire exposed major interoperability issues in California and, years later, Katrina had the same issues.
Dues. Rob Vance moved to raise the club dues to $20 effective 1/1/2007. Don Steinbach seconded. Motion carried. This item was originally introduced at the 1/17/2007 BOD meeting.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:20 pm
