S.A.R.A. Minutes of Meeting of
June 7, 2006

The meeting having been duly noticed, it began at approximately 7:45 pm and was called to order by Yin Shih. There were introductions around the table, those present introduced themselves.

OLD Business:

Emergency Communications Committee. Rob informed us that the Memorandum of Understanding has been approved unanimously by the City Council. It is ready to be signed. Greg Reynolds and Dick Crouch will work on the Emergency Plan.
  Radio Station. The cabinet has still not been completed. Rob will find out the status.
  Rotary Grant. A thank you letter was distributed to the members for approval.
  Liability Insurance. No answer has been received yet.
  Field Day 2006. There will be a work party on June 10th & 11th at David Ritchie's home at 10:30 a.m. Dave Ritchie will captain HF1. Dick Crouch will captain HF2; Rob will captain the GOTA; Sam Sjogren will captain the VHF and possibly the satellite station. Yin is arranging for the porta potty and will contact Capt. Tim. Don Bertossa will arrange to rent tables. Christina will captain the kitchen.
   

New Business:

Treasurer's Report. The Treasurer gave his report on the bank account balance.
  Minutes. The May minutes have been posted on the web site and were approved by the members.
  Future Speaker . There is the possibility of a speaker in September from Urban Search and Rescue Task Force 3. Christina will keep us advised.
  Saratoga Parade. The parade is scheduled for September 24th at Noon. We will need approximately 15 amateur radio operators to be located at various stations. More information to follow. SARA may hold a planning meeting in August or wait until the regular September meeting to make plans and obtain volunteers.
  Presentation. Yin gave a presentation on networking with WriteLog. Several members practiced logging over the network.
   
The meeting was adjourned at approximately 9:00 pm.
