| The meeting having been duly noticed, it began at approximately 7:40 pm and was called to order by Yin Shih. There were introductions around the table, those present introduced themselves. | |
OLD Business: |
EOC Net. S.A.R.A. participated in the monthly EOC communications exercise on behalf of the City of Saratoga once again. A sign up sheet was passed around for future months. The exercise continues to be at 9:30 AM on the first Wednesday of the month. |
| DSW Forms. We have been informed by the City of Saratoga that there is no need for DSW volunteers to be fingerprinted UNLESS they are working with children under 18 years of age or with confidential information. All forms should be completed and submitted to Christina for group submission to the City. | |
New Business: |
Treasurer's Report. The Treasurer gave his report on the bank account balance. All new signature cards have been completed. Greg requested an updated list of assets that have recently been purchased for the new station. Christina suggested that he get that from Rob Vance, N6ROB. |
| Minutes. Minutes for the Member's meetings of November and December 2005 and January 2006 were approved by the members. Minutes of the January Board Meeting were approved by the Directors and Officers present. | |
| Future S.A.R.A. Meetings. We discussed the meeting situation with the members. The fire station calendar was consulted and the only available date was the first Wednesday of the month. There are meeting conflicts with other organizations on the second, third and fourth Wednesdays of the month. It was resolved to move the meetings to the first Wednesday of the month. It was also resolved to move the meeting location from Saratoga City Hall to the Saratoga Fire Station. | |
| Dinner Location. There was also discussion of our dinner location. Since we are no longer be meeting at the Saratoga City Hall, it might be more convenient to have dinner somewhere on Big Basin Way. It was resolved that we would have dinner at Hong's Gourmet on Big Basin Way previous to the March 1st meeting. | |
| Saratoga 50th Anniversary Parade. After some discussion, it was resolved by the members to assist with the City of Saratoga's 50th Anniversary Parade. The parade will take place on September 24th, 2006. Save the date! | |
| March Speaker. It was resolved that David Ritchie will speak on VP5NA and his trip to the Turks & Caicos islands for the March 1st meeting. | |
| SuitSat. Don Anastasia informed the members that the Russians were about to launch a discarded Russian spacesuit equipped with ham radio into orbit, now known as "SuitSat". It will be transmitting on 145.99 MHz and may be flying over our area some time tomorrow. More information can be found here and here. | |
| Presentation. Fabrizio Corno gave his presentation on cell phone technology and standards. | |
