OLD Business:

Halloween Watch. Dave Anderson, City Manager, spoke to the club on what it was like to ride along with the Sheriff on Halloween night. Dave also asked for feedback and the following feedback was given: The vests worked well, however a central collection point is needed. There was a suggestion that another "Ham" ride with the Sheriff next year. The "incident" at Saratoga High, it was noted that the club member on watch there handled it properly. Dave said he would talk at our October meeting next year. The response from the Sheriff was good. John Glass mentioned that he thought we've been doing the Halloween caper for 15 years and maybe the club can be involved in other city events, e.g. the city parade. Dave suggested that we contact the committee responsible for the event.

Fire Station Update. The radio equipment needs to be in a cabinet. The cabinet will match the existing furnature at the Fire Station. We are waiting for a quote on the cabinet so we can place the order for it. The EOC at City Hall has limited backup power. The new EOC to be in the Firestation is the perfect place for an EOC. An EOC to EOC radio was recently installed. Two runs of cable were installed for the club for a total of 4 runs pulled. The Club needs to set things up at the Firestation ( a sense of urgency was conveyed). Dave emphasized a quick transition to the new EOC location and suggested that we start holding our monthly meeting there. There are 10 public parking spaces up on top now.

New Business:

Treasurer's Report. Christina reported the current bank account balance. In addition, Christina prepared two binders with information on the Club. One binder is for the Club Secretary and the other binder is for the Club Treasurer.
Minutes. Minutes from October were approved.
Future S.A.R.A. Meetings. We discussed the meeting situation with the members. The fire station calendar was consulted and the only available date was the first Wednesday of the month. There are meeting conflicts with other organizations on the second, third and fourth Wednesdays of the month. It was resolved to move the meetings to the first Wednesday of the month. It was also resolved to move the meeting location from Saratoga City Hall to the Saratoga Fire Station.
Radio Interoperability Task Force Presentation. Dave Anderson talked about this $100K project which has grown into a $21M project Northrop Grumman is contracted to implement it. As part of this, Dave requested that the Club be a liason between CERT and EOC. Jim Cardenas is the CERT & Neighborhood Watch coordinator. The Recreation Brochure for the City of Saratoga will have a CERT course sign up application. In closing, Dave asked for feedback on what the Club is capable of doing.
The meeting was adjourned at approximately 8:55 pm.
