| The meeting having been duly noticed, it began at approximately 7:30 pm and was called to order by John Glass. There were introductions around the table, those present introduced themselves. | |
OLD Business: |
Field Day.This is the first regular meeting since Field Day. It went well and we plan to do it again next year. |
| Fire Station. The fire station project is ongoing. Plans are to procure a cabinet and move the EOC to the fire station. | |
New Business: |
QSL Donation. A proposal to make a $50 donation to QSL was approved. QSL hosts our website and email address, and other amateur radio websites, for free and it was decided that it would be good business to make a donation. |
| Recognitions. Thanks to Christina and Rob regarding working on the club's Federal Tax Exempt application. | |
| Halloween Caper. Halloween next month falls on a Monday night, those interested in participating in the "caper" signed up. | |
| Treasurer's Report. Christina reported the current bank account balance. | |
| Celebrate Saratoga. An announcement was made that Celebrate Saratoga was happening from 5:30-9:30 on Sat. Sept. 17. | |
| Future Presentations. There was a request for a future presentation to be on CW Keyers. | |
| Linux Presentation. Rob made a presentation about Linux. He showed off a new digital receiver and tuned it to the W.V. Sheriff's frequency. Rob built the IRLP node on our repeater using Linux. Harv's Hamshack Hack was shown as a Linux example. Echolink is also running on the Linux PC connected to our club repeater. | |
