S.A.R.A. Minutes of Meeting of
May 11, 2005
Location: Saratoga City Hall

In attendance were:

The meeting having been duly noticed, it began at approximately 7:30 pm and was called to order by John Glass. There were introductions around the table, those present introduced themselves.

OLD Business:

Fire Station. We discussed the future installation of the radio station at the downtown Saratoga fire station.

  Field Day 2005. There was a brief discussion about Field Day planning.
   

New Business:

 Speaker. Our guest speaker was Don Farwell, W6GYD, who showed our small group an assortment of RF tubes, which he has collected over the years. Don had about 10 to 12 tubes for "show and tell" display. All of the RF tubes were of different sizes. One of the tubes was a high-power transmitting tube, probably used at microwave frequencies, during the 1950's. Some of the hams present asked Don- W6GYD a few questions about his tube display.
  Amateur Radio Volunteers. Don, AA6W, announced that the amateur radio operators in the City of Saratoga were to be recognized at the following week's City Council meeting in the council chambers, and all of the Saratoga amateurs were invited to attend.
The meeting was adjourned by John Glass, NU6P, at approximately 8:30 pm.
