Agenda:
Old Business: Discussion on how the Halloween Caper Went
- The Sheriff very much appreciated the effort.
- It was requested that next year we ask someone from the Sheriff's office to come and speak to us.
- The following questions were asked: Was there any damage? Can the school district send us a letter of thanks.
New Business: Elections next month:
- Rob will not be running for re-election. President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer positions will be elected.
New Business: Website Discussion:
- Christina talked about the SARA website. She has updated the site for the club. She asked for and received feedback on what links we wanted to have on our site.
Guest Speaker: Lorie Tinfow
- Has been with the city for 2.5 years. Her position is Assistant City Manager
- She is working with the county OES to get Saratoga's emergency plan updated. It will go to the public safety committee for approval. This is expected to happen near the end of January.
- She invited SARA members to participate in a disaster simulation sometime in April, however, the date is not yet set. The plan must be approved first.
- There was a discussion on the CERT ("Community Emergency Response Team") program, which is organization of local community teams trained by local government. Information is available and training classes must be signed up for in advance. 18 hours of training are required for certification.
- Lorie will contact Don Anastasia re: the disaster simulation dates and times.
