Minutes
of the monthly meeting of January 8, 2003
The
meeting was called to order by President Rob Vance, N6ROB, at 7:30 pm,
with
10 people present.
The
minutes of the December meeting were read and approved.
Robreviewed our accomplishments for 2002. They include:

Mailed a flier to all Saratoga hams, encouraging them to participate in
the
q
club.
q
Increased our treasury by 300 dollars with 30 members.
q
Built a new repeater.
q
Created a new web site.
q
Had a nice field Day.
q
Had ten club meetings.
q
Successful Halloween Caper.
q
Created an updated emergency operations manual.
q
Participated in some emergency preparedness drills at city hall.
q
Don Anastasia has installed 2 meter antennas at several local schools and
received positive feedback from the maintenance supervisor for his efforts. Don
Anastasia will be putting up additional antennas at Saratoga High School, and
St. Andrews.
q
Don updated people's responder id cards with the latest sticker and new
city id badges will be available at the February meeting.

Next,
we discussed things to do for this year. The following items were
suggested:

Publicize our successes to the city and Sheriff. It was suggested that
we try to get letters for the city from organizations we help to acknowledge
our contributions. Lou told us that
the Halloween Caper has been going on for about 12 years, and has been one of
our most successful public service activities saving the City several thousand
dollars per year by preventing vandalism.

Update Saratoga id badges
q
Distribute our updated handbook to members.
q
Have Field Day.
q
Halloween Caper
q
Install antennas at Saratoga High School and St. Andrews
q
We will have a separate meeting to discuss emergency response and
assignments when disaster strikes
There
being no further business before the Association, the meeting was adjourned at
8:32 pm.
