Saratoga Amateur
Radio Association
The
meeting was called to order by President Rob Vance, N6ROB, at 7:30 PM with 10
people present.
John
McCartney W6JJJ passed around the net control sign up sheet, and encouraged new
people to obtain net control experience.
Yin
Shih, N9YS, gave us a treasurer’s report.
We currently have $780.70 in the bank, with 29 members.
Rob
gave us his Presidents report. He said
that the club is doing well, and meeting attendance has been up.
The
board established two committees earlier this year. One is reviewing our emergency procedures, and updating
documentation. The other will be
working on our club stations. Both
committees have been making good progress.
Rob
reminded us that when using the club repeater, it is necessary to key your microphone
for about half a second before you start speaking otherwise the first words of
your transmission will not be broadcast.
We hope to eliminate this delay in the future.
Don
Anastasia AA6W has been checking out the school antennas.
Next,
we turned our attention to Field Day, which is this Saturday, June 22. Don has arranged for us to set up in El
Quito park again this year, where we will be operating two QRP stations from
batteries, using portable antennas. He
encouraged all interested people to come by and participate.
There
being no further business before the Association, the meeting was adjourned at
approximately 8:30 PM.
Submitted by John Glass, NU6P, SARA Secretary for
2002.
